Essential Du'a Guide for Umrah — Supplications at Every Stage

Du'a When Entering Ihram
At the Miqat, make your intention and recite the Talbiyah: Labbayk Allahumma labbayk, labbayka la sharika laka labbayk. Innal-hamda wan-ni'mata laka wal-mulk, la sharika lak. Continue reciting this throughout your journey to Makkah.
Du'a During Tawaf
Begin each circuit at the Black Stone corner saying Bismillah, Allahu Akbar. Between the Yemeni Corner and the Black Stone, recite: Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati hasanatan wa qina adhaban-nar. You may make personal du'a in any language during Tawaf.
Du'a During Sa'i
When ascending Safa and Marwa, face the Kaaba and recite: Inna as-Safa wal-Marwata min sha'a'irillah. Make du'a at the top of each hill — these are blessed moments when prayers are especially accepted.
Personal Supplications
Umrah is a time when du'a is readily accepted. Prepare a personal list of supplications before your trip — for yourself, your family, your community, and the entire Ummah. Write them down so you do not forget in the moment.
Tips for Meaningful Du'a
Begin with praising Allah, then send blessings upon the Prophet (PBUH), then make your requests. Be specific and sincere. Cry if you can — tears during du'a are a sign of a softened heart. The best du'a is one made from the heart in your own language.
