Ziyarah Guide — Holy Sites to Visit in Makkah and Madinah

Ziyarah in Makkah
Beyond Masjid al-Haram, Makkah offers several significant historical sites. Jabal al-Nour houses the Cave of Hira where the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) received the first revelation. Jabal Thawr contains the cave where the Prophet hid during the Hijrah. The Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah plains are the sites of Hajj rituals.
Ziyarah in Madinah
Masjid an-Nabawi (the Prophet's Mosque) is the centerpiece of Madinah. Visit the Rawdah (the green-carpeted area between the Prophet's tomb and his pulpit) — praying here is especially virtuous. Jannat al-Baqi cemetery holds the graves of many companions and family members of the Prophet.
Masjid Quba
The first mosque built in Islam, located in the outskirts of Madinah. The Prophet said that praying two rak'ahs in Masjid Quba is equivalent to performing Umrah. It is easily accessible by taxi or shuttle from the city center.
Mount Uhud
The site of the Battle of Uhud, one of the most significant events in early Islamic history. Visit the graves of the martyrs of Uhud, including the Prophet's uncle Hamza (RA). The mountain itself is a powerful reminder of sacrifice and faith.
